Heather is a third year student at the University of Waterloo, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Economics. Heather has worked in the office a PC Ontario MPP, and as a Junior Analyst in the Office of the Chief Economist for Global Affairs Canada, served as President of the University of Waterloo Campus Conservatives, is a Executive Member of the Ontario PC Campus Association, and is the Southern Ontario Regional Coordinator for the Canadian Taxpayers Federation’s Generation Screwed campaign. Heather was an intern at the Manning Centre in Summer 2016.

Why are Canadians so trusting of government regulations and regulators? Not only do they restrict personal and economic freedom, they routinely screw up and cause measurable harm to public health and safety. Canada needs to strike a better balance, writes Heather Bone, between government regulation and private sector self-regulation.
